All things were made by him, and without him was not anything made that was made.” In Him was life. Thus, the source of life is Jesus Christ.
Moving forward, we inhabit human bodies, creations of God detailed in Genesis chapter 2. The first human, Adam, was formed from the dust of the ground, and the Lord God breathed into him the breath of life. This act made man a living being. Our lives were intricately woven into our bodies at conception, a Christian concept reinforced by the Book of James, which states, “The body without the Spirit is dead.”
The Miraculous Human Physiology
Consider the complexity of the human physiology. At conception, our single cell contains the genetic code, DNA, responsible for the uniqueness of each cell, from heart cells to skin cells. Our bodies consist of various systems, such as the circulatory, nervous, endocrine, and immune systems, all interdependent and designed by God.
For instance, our brain, a marvel weighing about three pounds, functions like a thousand NASA supercomputers. It regulates processes like breathing, blood pH, and oxygen levels without conscious thought. Everything is pre-programmed and designed by God, not left to chance.
Oxygen, Glucose, and the Miracle of Photosynthesis
The brain’s primary requirements, oxygen and glucose, come from our respiratory and circulatory systems. The oxygen originates from plants, which, through photosynthesis, manufacture oxygen and sugar. This process is miraculous, capturing light photons from the Sun.
Speaking of the Sun, its precise position, 93 million miles away, and its nuclear fusion are crucial for life on Earth. The delicate balance of Earth’s distance from the Sun ensures that water doesn’t boil or freeze. Additionally, God placed an ozone layer in the upper stratosphere to filter out harmful rays.
