We are told in the above passage that the veil separated the Holy of Holies from the Holy Place. Once a year, on the Day of Atonement, the high priest passed through this veil into the Holy of Holies.
However, we are told that Jesus Christ was the High Priest of a “more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation”. This of course is the Tabernacle in Heaven.
We are immediately made aware in Hebrews 9 that there is a very strong link between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant. We are told that “with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption”.
Of course when Jesus Christ entered the Most Holy Place “made without hands, and not of this creation” Paul is speaking of the Throne of God in Heaven.
