Fulfillment 8

8. OLD COVENANT: The sacrificial goat was then sacrificed, and its blood sprinkled on the Mercy Seat

In the Old Covenant, the sacrificial goat was then sacrificed as a sin offering, and its blood sprinkled on and before the Eastern side of the Mercy Seat (see above). Not a bone of its body was broken.
By Rabbinic tradition, and in the Jewish Talmud, the Western side of the Mercy Seat was reserved only for the Messiah to sprinkle His blood. This is a very important detail, as we shall now see

8. NEW COVENANT: Jesus Christ fulfilled the Old Covenant and became both the High Priest and the Lamb of God. He poured His Own Blood on the Mercy Seat in Heaven, and the Western Side of the Mercy Seat on Earth

  • In the New Covenant, Jesus Christ was crucified, and died on the Cross.
  • Not a bone of His Body was broken.
  • Jesus Christ did not abandon the Old Covenant, but fulfilled it. God had already declared in Jeremiah 31:31, “Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel”.
  • Early in His ministry, Jesus had already declared, “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfil” Matthew 5:17.
  • At the Last Supper, Jesus Christ said these very famous words: “And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is My body”. Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. For this is My Blood of the New Covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins” Matthew 26:26-28.
  • Jesus Christ was the Lamb of God, slain before the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:8).
  • Jesus Christ was The High Priest of the New Covenant (see Hebrews 3:1, and 8:1).
  • We are told in Hebrews that Jesus Christ entered Heaven and poured His Blood onto the Mercy Seat in Heaven. In Hebrews 9: 11, 12, we are told that when Jesus Christ passed through this veil, He entered Heaven, and sprinkled his Blood on the Mercy Seat of the Tabernacle in Heaven. “He went into that greater, perfect tabernacle in heaven, not made by men nor part of this world, and once for all took blood into that inner room, the Holy of Holies, and sprinkled it on the Mercy Seat; but it was not the blood of goats and calves. No, He took His own Blood, and with it He, by Himself, made sure of our eternal salvation” (TLB).
  • We are told in Daniel 9:24 that the Messiah would anoint The Most Holy Place. Daniel 9:24 records that “Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy place,” (New American Standard Bible). We have already studied this (above) and established that “the Most Holy Place” is the Mercy Seat of the Ark of the Covenant.
  • Under Rabbinic tradition, the Western Side of the Mercy Seat was the place reserved for the Blood of the Messiah. This is precisely where Ron Wyatt claims to have discovered the Blood of the Messiah.
  • Daniel 9: 25-26 is the most amazing mathematical prophecy in the Bible. It reads as follows: “Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the command to restore and build Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince, there shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublesome times. And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself”.
  • For a concise explanation of Daniel 9:25,26 we have quoted from the highest possible authority: The New American Standard Bible, the New Open Bible Study Edition, page 942:
“The vision of the sixty-nine weeks in Daniel 9: 25,26 pinpoints the coming of the Messiah. The decree of Daniel 9: 25 took place on March 4th, 444 BC (Nehemiah 2: 1-8). The sixty-nine weeks of seven years equals 483 years, or 173,880 days (using 360-day prophetic years.) This leads to March 29th, A.D.33, the date of the Triumphal Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. This is checked by noting that 444 BC to AD 33 is 476 years, and 476 times 365.24219 days per year equals 173,855 days. Adding 25 days for the difference between March 4th and March 29th gives 173,880 days. It should be noted that the Babylonians used a 360-day calendar, which must be converted to our current Solar Years, of 365 days. These 360-day years are commonly called prophetic years”.
