The Crucifixion Of Jesus

The Name Of God Written Over The Cross

Words Over The Cross John 19:19 reads as follows: "Now Pilate wrote a title and put it on the Cross. And the writing was: JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS".

Pontius Pilate wrote the words "JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS" on a sign. The sign was written in Hebrew, Latin and Greek. There was probably a very large sign, if not three of them, which could be easily read from the busy road by the Damascus Gate. Pilate answered, "What I have written, I have written",
