The Resurrection and the Shroud of Turin

As discussed in the previous section, at the Transfiguration, Jesus’ Body became very bright, and “shone like the sun,” Matthew 17:1. This could have enormous theoretical implications for the Image formation on the Shroud of Turin.

Jesus Christ is God, the Second Person of the Trinity, and radiated light, or radiation of some sort, at the Transfiguration (see Section 14).

It is our belief that something very similar happened at the Resurrection. We cannot prove this, but since an Image was created on the Shroud it seems a perfectly reasonable assumption.

Jesus’ Body was raised from the dead after three days at the Resurrection. His Body may well have glowed with light, as He did at the Transfiguration, and also emitted radiation.

The experiments of Dr Accetta and also Dr Jackson and Dr Jumper all seem to indicate that a form of radiation was involved in the creation of the Image on the Shroud.

Nobody was present at the Resurrection other than Jesus Christ Himself, and God the Holy Spirit. We therefore have to make reasonable assumptions to explain the Image on the Shroud.

Moses’ face glowed with light after meeting God

Moses had an encounter with God on Mount Sinai, when he received the Ten Commandments. Immediately after this, his face shone with light. This is described in Exodus 34:29-30: “Moses didn’t realize as he came back down the mountain with the tablets that his face glowed from being in the presence of God. Because of this radiance upon his face, Aaron and the people of Israel were afraid to come near him.” (TLB)

Nobody knows exactly what made Moses’ face glow with light, but it seems very probable that the molecules of his face began to move with a new energy, after an encounter with Jesus Christ in His Glorified Body. Light actually consists of photons moving in a wave form. A normal face will reflect light with normal tone and shading, but Moses’ face radiated photons of light, following an encounter with God.

Moses’ face had an energy all of its own, so there must have been some underlying change in the energy of the cells of his face. This structural change in the energy of the cells of Moses’ face appears to have been transient, because this effect appears to have worn off.

We believe that a similar phenomenon happened to the Shroud at the Resurrection.

The Shroud of Turin may well have glowed with light at the Resurrection

We believe it is possible that at the Resurrection not only did light and radiation shine through the linen of the Shroud, but also the Shroud itself may have emitted light, in a similar way to Moses’ face.

In this case, the cellular energy of the linen of the Shroud may also have been transiently changed, as Moses’ face was. The Shroud of Turin does not now glow with light, but there is a faint photo-negative image of a Crucified Man which we still need to account for!
