Sulphur Balls from Sodom and Gomorrah

Exploring the Archaeological Evidence: Sodom and Gomorrah

I had the opportunity to examine a sulphur ball from the biblical cities of Sodom and Gomorrah during a trip to Israel with Derek Walker. Walker, a frequent visitor to Israel, often includes visits to these historical sites in his tours. Dr. Leonard Muller, another expert on the subject, has also shared insights with me and authored a book titled “The Exodus Case.”

Where are Sodom and Gomorrah?

Sodom and Gomorrah are located at the southern end of the Dead Sea, near Masada. Unfortunately, while many tourists visit Masada, only a few explore the fascinating ruins of Sodom and Gomorrah. According to scriptures, these cities were condemned, and God rained down brimstone, which is sulphur burning at an intense 5000 degrees Celsius.

On the south end of the Dead Sea, a signpost points to Sodom or Mount Sodom. There’s also a captivating image of what is believed to be Gomorrah at the base of Masada, highlighting the proximity of these biblical sites.

Unveiling the Evidence at Masada

As you stroll through Masada, a place once used for pagan worship, remnants of burnt structures bear witness to God’s wrath through brimstone. The Canaanite City walls, with an outer and inner layer, still stand tall, offering a glimpse into the ancient city’s grandeur.

Recommendation: Don’t miss visiting the city below Masada, identified as Gomorrah, to witness the high, well-preserved walls and the unique sulphur balls scattered among the ash.

The Enigmatic Sulphur Balls

These sulphur balls, distinct from those produced by volcanoes, are often found in abundance throughout Sodom and Gomorrah. On my visit, Derek Walker demonstrated the remarkable properties of a sulphur ball by setting it on fire. The pungent smell of hydrogen sulphide, reminiscent of bad eggs, filled the air. It’s essential to note that sulphur burns at an astonishing 5000 degrees Celsius, melting even a spoon almost instantly.

A Personal Encounter with Sulphur Balls

Here’s a sulphur ball found by Derek Walker himself, handed to me during my visit. These sulphur balls are scattered all over Sodom and Gomorrah, offering tangible evidence of the cities’ destruction. The Bible’s account of God’s intervention and the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah with sulphur is vividly brought to life through these archaeological finds.

In conclusion, a visit to Masada and the associated biblical sites provides a tangible connection to the historical events documented in the scriptures. Sodom and Gomorrah are not just biblical tales; they are real places with physical evidence attesting to the divine intervention that unfolded in ancient times.

Thank you for listening, and may God bless you.
