In Him we Live, and Move, and Have our Being

Exploring Life Through the Lens of Jesus Christ

Hello, my name is Richard Kent. Today, I want to delve into a scripture in Acts 17:28, which proclaims, “In him we live and move and have our being.” This verse encapsulates the essence of our existence on planet Earth which therefore emphasizes the profound connection between our lives and Jesus Christ.

The Source of Life: Jesus Christ

Let’s begin by unraveling the origins of life itself. In John chapter 1, we’re enlightened that “in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” It elucidates that all things were made through Him, and in Him was life. Hence, the answer to the question of life’s source is therefore unequivocally Jesus Christ.

The Creation of Human Bodies

Our human bodies which are also intricately designed by God, find their genesis in the narrative of Genesis chapter 2. The first human, Adam, was formed from the dust of the ground, and God breathed into his body the breath of life, igniting his existence. This divine act underscores the divine origin of our lives because as each of us carries within us the breath of life bestowed by God.

The Marvel of Human Physiology

Within the framework of our existence lies the marvel of human physiology, meticulously crafted by God. Our bodies encompass various systems — from the brain and nervous system to the circulatory, endocrine, and immune systems. Each system operates synergistically, orchestrated by God’s design, facilitating vital functions essential for life.

Sustaining Life: Oxygen and Glucose

Crucial to our survival are oxygen and glucose, the primary fuel for our bodies. The oxygen we breathe and the glucose we metabolize are fundamental to the Krebs cycle, the process through which energy is produced. Remarkably, these life-sustaining elements are sourced from plants, which harness sunlight through photosynthesis to generate oxygen and glucose.

Divine Design in the Cosmos

Moreover, the intricate balance in the cosmos underscores God’s meticulous design. The Sun is situated 93 million miles away and therefore serves as the powerhouse of our solar system. Radiating light and heat essential for life on Earth. Additionally, God’s providence is evident in the Earth’s positioning, precisely calibrated to sustain life by regulating temperature and atmospheric conditions.

Conclusion: Life Anchored in Jesus Christ

In essence, our lives find their essence and sustenance in Jesus Christ. From the breath of life breathed into Adam to the intricate orchestration of physiological processes, every facet of our existence bears the imprint of divine design. As we ponder the complexities of life, let us anchor our understanding in the truth which is “in Him we live and move and have our being.”

Thank you for your attention and may you continue to embrace the miraculous wonder of life rooted in Jesus Christ.
