Whilst in the chamber, Ron noticed a dried, black substance in an earthquake crack in the roof, above the limestone casing. He noticed that this black substance was also on the lid of the cracked stone casing.

Ron Wyatt reasoned that this substance had dripped from the crack in the roof, through the broken lid of the limestone casement, and onto the Mercy Seat of the Ark of the Covenant. Ron wondered what substance could be so sacred, that God made provision for it to land on the Mercy Seat of the Ark of the Covenant.

Ron remembered the earthquake crack at the foot of the Cross-Hole, and suddenly he realised what had happened. Ron traced the earthquake crack leading from the Cross-Hole down to Jeremiah’s Grotto, containing the Ark of the Covenant.

Ron confirmed that an earthquake had cracked the rock face of the Calvary Escarpment, and that the crack had extended through the Cross-Hole of Jesus Christ, all the way down to Jeremiah’s Grotto, and even to the limestone case of the Ark of the Covenant.
