Detailed Analysis 8. The Typology of the Old Covenant and the New Covenant

The Typology of the Old Covenant and the New Covenant fits perfectly with Ron Wyatt’s discovery of the Blood of Jesus Christ on the Mercy Seat of the Ark of the Covenant.

We believe that Jesus Christ fulfilled quite literally the Old Covenant, by anointing the Mercy Seat with his Own Blood, at the time of the Crucifixion, in full fulfilment of Daniel 9:24 (see above).

The Typology of the Old Covenant and the New Covenant fits perfectly with Ron Wyatt’s discovery of the Blood of Jesus Christ on the Mercy Seat of the Ark of the Covenant.

The New Covenant cannot be fully understood until the Old Covenant is fully understood. In brief, in the Old Covenant the blood of a perfect goat was sprinkled onto the Mercy Seat in the Holy of Holies for the remission of sins. The scapegoat went free into the wilderness. The following is a more detailed account of what actually took place.

The Old Covenant is described in Leviticus 16:1-20

This is a brief description of the ceremony, although we shall be studying the ceremony more fully.

  1. Once a year, on the Day of Atonement, the following ceremony took place.
  2. Two perfect male goats were chosen by the priests.
  3. Both were presented to God.
  4. Lots were cast, and the sacrificial goat was chosen.
  5. The sacrificial goat was kept to be sacrificed as a blood sacrifice for sin.
  6. None of its bones were broken
  7. The other goat, the scapegoat, was sent into the wilderness, with a red cord tied around its horns.
  8. The throat of the sacrificial goat was cut outside the Temple, and its blood collected in a special basin.
  9. The high priest then entered the Holy of Holies, wearing special priestly garments, and carrying the basin of blood from the sacrificial goat.
  10. The high priest remained in the Holy of Holies, in pitch darkness, for a total of three hours.
  11. The high priest then prayed before the Ark of the Covenant, asking God to forgive the Jewish people for their sins over the previous 12 months.
  12. The high priest then poured the blood of the sacrificial goat onto the Eastern or right hand side of the Mercy Seat.
  13. God then appeared in Shekinah Glory between the two Cherubim over the Mercy Seat.
  14. God forgave the sin of the Jewish people.
  15. The high priest then stood up, and cried out, “It is finished”.
  16. The Old Covenant was fulfilled, by the sacrifice of the sacrificial goat, and the prayer of repentance by the high priest on behalf of the Jewish people.
