The Crucifixion Of Jesus
Abraham and Isaac
Isaac was a full grown man, and carried on his back enough wood to consume a sacrifice. This foreshadowed Jesus carrying His wooden Cross. God prevented the sacrifice of Abraham's only son, and provided a male lamb "caught by its horns in a thicket." This foreshadowed the Crucifixion of the Lamb on Mount Moriah. Jesus was later "caught by His horns" on the cross.
Geographically, Mount Moriah includes the Temple Mount, and the vicinity of Golgotha and the Garden Tomb.
